About Family Services

Picerne Military Housing’s core mission is One Company. One Mission. Families First. Being true to our mission, we have created a Family Support Services (FSS) program that serves to support meeting the needs of our military families.

FSS representatives work to facilitate a smooth transition for the family to their new home by directing you to the proper resources for WIC, SSI, Food Stamps, FSSA and Health and Welfare issues

For assistance, contact your FSS Manager at 910-764-4500.

The Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP)
Picerne Military Housing (PMH) is focused on delivering excellence to all families.
However, we know that a number of military families are in need of special support under the Exceptional Family Member Program.

This program is here to assist families with special needs to improve their quality of life by making homes and facilities readily accessible. AR 608-75 establishes policy and procedures for facilitating the EFMP. The Family Support Services (FSS) representative will address all requests for exception to policy regarding living accommodations and requests impacting waiving the wait list in a timely manner. It is critical that the attending physician, the program manager for the EFMP, and/or the community health nurse, provide a recommendation to all special consideration requests.

BAH and LES Information
Housing privatization is new to many military sponsors and families. When residing on a privatized installation, the sponsors now receive their basic allowance for housing (BAH), which is listed on their leave and earnings statement (LES). The FSS staff works closely with supporting state and federal agencies to educate them on privatization and the mechanics of the BAH.

Family Advocacy Program
Emphasizes prevention, education, prompt reporting, investigation, intervention and treatment of spouse and child abuse.

Family Child Care
There are four Child Development Centers on Fort Bragg. In addition to the four Childcare Centers, there are more than 135 Family Child Care providers in the Fort Bragg Community offering a wide range of daycare options to accommodate the military community. Picerne Military Housing will continue to work with the Child Development Center Coordinator to support this needed program. More info
