Construction Scope

We are excited to announce Fort Bragg’s project scope for 2011.

Fort Bragg Construction Scope for 2011

Picerne Military Housing is hard at work improving on-post family housing at Fort Bragg. In 2011, the Construction Team is scheduled to complete 127 new homes in Linden Oaks. These four-bedroom, 2.5 bathroom townhomes are being built for Junior Enlisted (E1-E5) and Senior NCO (E6-E9) families and will be the last of the 1,262 homes constructed at Linden Oaks under the current Congressionally-approved Modified Scope Plan (MSP).

However, as a result of the Army’s goal to increase its forces, Fort Bragg has received approval to build an additional 210 homes in Linden Oaks under the “Grow the Army” Modified Scope Plan. The additional homes will be designated for Company Grade (W1-CW3, O1-O3) and Field Grade Officer (CW4-CW5, O4-O5) families. Land development for these four-bedroom homes will begin in fall 2011 and vertical construction will begin in late spring of 2012. After construction is completed next year, Linden Oaks will be home to 1,472 military families.

New home construction is underway on main post as well. Thirteen general/flag officer (GFOQ) homes are being built on a new street called McNeill Place, adjacent to the Ryder Golf Course. The new homes will feature brick exteriors and will be home to 1 four-star general, 4 three-star generals and 8 one/two-star generals.

In addition to new construction, home renovations continue to be a big part of on-post housing improvements as 383 renovations are planned for this year. Included in this count are 138 major renovations being completed in the Corregidor Courts/Bougainville and Casablanca/Anzio Acres neighborhoods. These dramatic townhome renovations are reducing the overall density of homes and greatly increasing square footage for Junior Enlisted families through modern upgrades, like large closets, maple-finished cabinetry, new appliances, spacious master bedrooms, roomy laundry rooms, contemporary lighting fixtures, backyard patios or decks, and attractive exterior enhancements.

As part of our efforts to modernize each and every on-post home, 44 historic Junior Enlisted, Field Grade Officer, and Senior Grade Officer homes in our Normandy/Bastogne Gables and Pope neighborhoods are also receiving aesthetic and energy-efficiency upgrades and renovations in accordance with the recommendations of the Fort Bragg Cultural Resources Office and the N.C. State Historic Preservation Office.

In addition, 123 Hammond Hills and Pope homes are scheduled to receive medium renovations, to include fresh paint, new carpet and vinyl, plumbing replacement and the installation of more contemporary lighting fixtures.

Finally, part of this year’s scope of work includes increasing office space for the Picerne team. A 6,000 square foot addition to the Fort Bragg Program Office is being built to house support functions of the company, like accounting and military affairs.
